Why can't I see any jobs?

The main reasons why you might not be able to see any open jobs on Sidekicker

Opened your Sidekicker app only to find there aren't any open jobs on your dashboard? 😥

1. You have a missing, rejected or expired certificate

You might not be able to view jobs on your dashboard if one of your required certificates is missing or has expired. When this occurs, you may notice a banner at the top of your page to alert you of this.

Required certificates are documents that every Sidekick must have approved on their profile in order to work. These include the Right to Work Check, and the Sidekicker OH&S Induction. You may also have additional required certificates depending on where you are located and the industries you work in. To check your required certificates, click here to login and view your certificates.

If your certificate is missing:

Click on the certificate field to complete or upload the required certificate, and our team will review this for approval within 24 hours.

If your certificate is rejected:

Your certificate could have been rejected if;

  • The incorrect document was uploaded

  • The document was not valid (e.g. had already expired)

  • The document is unclear and cannot be sighted

  • The document does not have all the required information

You will always be notified via email if we cannot accept a certificate you have uploaded, along with the reason why.

If your certificate is expired:

You will receive email reminders in the weeks leading up to your certificate's expiry date.

If your certificate has expired, you will need to replace it with a valid certificate.

If your Right to Work Check (Australia) has expired:

You will not be able to view or apply for jobs after the expiry date on your Right to Work. To update your existing details, check out this article for more information.

2. Your job preferences are limited

If you have a wider range of availability and can travel further to jobs, you may want to update your Job Preferences - this may increase the open jobs you can see!

Also, you may only have access to a few categories of work depending on your experience. If you're interested in adding more work categories to your account, you can click here.

3. It's a quiet time of the year

If you have followed the above steps and still cannot see any jobs, it may just be that the businesses we work with are experiencing a quieter period. Some businesses close their doors during this time and they don’t require as many workers as usual.

Also, during holiday periods, many Sidekicks are taking advantage of their free time from studies or other work, and are applying for and working on more shifts.
