We're excited to make selling assets simpler with the 'Sell' feature on the Coast Platform. This feature lets you convert PulseChain core assets directly into US dollars from your Coast account. While we encourage users to explore and use DeFi tools, we know this is a more straightforward and accessible option for many.
Note: This article explains how to sell $wPLS, but the process is the same for any of the assets available to sell directly for USD, which include:
wPLS
PLSX
HEX
INC
How to Use the Buy Feature on the Coast Platform:
Log In and Connect Wallet:
Log into your Coast account.
Connect your wallet to the platform.
Go to the Buy/Sell tab on the left-hand margin, and ensure Sell is selected.
Enter Amount to Sell:
In the "You Sell" box, enter the amount of wPLS (or other asset) that you'd like to sell
Don't worry if the "You Receive" box initially shows 0. Click the Check Price button to fetch pricing data.
Check Price:
The Check Price button queries liquidity pools on PulseChain for pricing.
Once the price is available, the button will update to show how many US dollars you will receive and the "You Receive" box will populate with the amount.
Click Sell:
After reviewing the details, click Sell to initiate the sale
You will then need to confirm the sell in your wallet
Following this, a pop-up will appear with the message "Sell initiated," and your order will be marked as pending.
Please note that these orders aren't instant, as several on-chain transactions happen in the background. Typically, transactions take 4-8 minutes to process
Transaction Completion:
After the transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, the USD balance will be credited to your Coast account
You will see a Confirmed status on the transaction page
Failed Transactions:
If the transaction fails, it may be due to PulseChain network congestion. You can reach out to customer support via the Intercom button in the bottom-right corner for assistance.
Some Common Challenges when using the Sell Feature
Trying to sell $PLS instead of $wPLS
When trying to sell $PLS instead of $wPLS, it's important to note that $PLS is the native utility coin of the PulseChain network, so it isn’t technically a PRC-20 token. Most smart contracts, including those used by decentralized exchanges, are designed to interact with PRC-20 tokens. As a result, $PLS needs to be wrapped (creating wPLS) in order to function as a PRC-20 token. The value of wPLS is identical to $PLS, but users may need to wrap their $PLS to use the sell feature.
$PLS can be wrapped into $wPLS on any decentralized exchange at a 1:1 ratio, without the risk of slippage since it's not technically a DEX trade. Below are two examples of how to wrap $PLS using PulseX or Piteas.
