Master Data is used in different parts of the system and at 3 levels.

Master Data is maintained at the account, channel, and return policy levels. At each level, you have more detailed control.

  • Account settings change settings for your account

  • Portal (channel) settings for a specific channel

  • Return Type (return policy) setting for a specific return policy

Master data exists of 6 types. Some of these types can be set at all levels, while other types can only be set at one or two levels.

Countries (3 levels)

On the account level, the selected countries are used in Logistics for creating Origins, Destinations, and Routes.

On the channel level, the selected countries are used to define for which countries a return can be created.

On the return policy level, the selected countries are used to define for which countries the return policy is available.

Disposition types (1 level)

On the account level, the selected disposition types can be used in Asset Grading Sets which are used in Return Dock.

Settlement types (1 level)

On the account level, the selected settlement types can be used in Attribute Settings/Service Request which is used in Settlement Automation.

Languages (2 levels)

On the account level, the selected languages define the languages that can be used at the portal and return type level.

On the channel level, the selected languages define the languages that are available for customers to use in the return portal. The languages at the channel level also define the languages in Email Templates and Documents.

More about using languages can be found here.

Currencies (3 levels)

On the account level, the selected currencies define the currencies that can be used at the portal and return type level. Currencies at the account level can also be used in logistics/routes settings to define customer costs, shipment value, and insurance value,

On the channel level, the selected currencies define the currencies that can be used to create products.

On the return policy level, the selected currencies define the currencies that can be used to create a return. Currencies at the return policy level, are used to define the currency of a return. This currency is used by settlement automation logic to calculate the proposed settlement amount. Setting the currency of a return happens in 2 ways:

  • Order connector: the currency of the return is matched with the currency that has been retrieved from the external system.

  • Product feed:

    • If one currency has been defined in master data, this currency will be used as the currency of the return;

    • If multiple currencies have been defined in master data, the customer is asked to select the order currency in the first step of the returns process in the return portal.

Your account is set up with EURO as the default currency. When setting your account, or when adding a new currency, it is important to select the currencies at all relevant levels.

For all selected currencies, values can be defined at the following levels:

  • Products in channel settings

  • Carrier values for each route in logistics settings

Measurement units (2 levels)

Set the preferred measurement unit (metric, and/or imperial). This item is available on the account and channel level.
