Welcome to the release notes for the Summer '19 Release. This release note provides you with a summary of changes and updates to the 12Return returns management platform.

This is a major update that affects the returns authorization processes. We are launching Automation Rules for Return Profiling.

Automation Rules
Automation rules automate the key decisions in the returns process. Automation rules will automate decisions in 4 main areas of the returns management process. This release is focused on Returns Authorization. With Return Profiling automation rules you can define if and how returns are authorized. Read more about Automation Rules and Return Profiling.

Product Master
With the release of Return Profiling we have also improved the way products can be maintained in the product master. A product can be flagged as a catalog item or a service item. A product includes several parameters that can be used in Automation Rules, such as a warranty period. Products can also be flagged as non-returnable. Non-returnable products are eligible for service settlement but do not need to be send back. Furthermore products can include images and instructions to streamline the receiving and grading process. Read more about Product Master.

Return Material Authorization (RMA)
With the new automation rules we now support automated warranty check and authorization of products. We have written a series of articles that describe these new features.

Image Gallery
To support a better receiving and grading process with Return Dock in your returns center, we have introduced a brand-new image library that allows you to manage product images that can be showed during the Unpack and Inspect activities in the returns center. Read more about Image Gallery.

Return Dock
The receiving and grading process in Return Dock has been improved with new screens for the Unpack and Inspect activities. These screens now include images (that can be maintained with Image Gallery) and instructions (that can be maintained in Product Master).

Advanced Customer Portal
To support Return Profiling we have also improved the way product details are visualized in the Advanced Customer Portal. Read more about Return Overview.

Return Details
To support Return Profiling we have also improved the way product details are visualized in the service and operations modules. Read more about Product Details.

Email and Document templates
To support Return Profiling we have also improved the way product details are visualized in emails and documents.

Priority Returns
With the action button in the return overview, a return can now be flagged for priority. This way you can keep better track on priority returns that require special attention.

Stay tuned for more

With the release of Automation Rules we have introduced a strong foundation for automation in the returns process. Return Profiling is the first of four areas in the returns process that can be automated with rules that are relevant for your business. In upcoming releases we will add automation rules to following areas:

  • Dynamic Routing: Dynamic Routing automates logistics planning. With automation rules you will be able to add specific rules like calculating shipping cost contribution by the customer.

  • Settlement Planning: Settlement Planning automates the resolution of returns. With automation rules you will be able to add specific rules like calculating refund amounts.

  • Revalue Optimizing: Revalue Optimizing automates the disposition of returned products. With automation rules you will be able to add specific rules like calculating product recovery trade-offs.

We trust that these enhancements will further improve your returns process with 12Return.

Have a great summer!

The team at 12Return
