Renting an item on Rentifi is a smooth, community-first process built to promote trust, transparency, and convenience. To begin, use the Rentifi marketplace to search for an item—you can filter by category, location, availability, and even proximity to lockers. Once you’ve found the right item, select your rental dates and choose your preferred delivery method: either in-person handoff or pickup from a nearby IoT-enabled locker, depending on what the lender offers.
After customizing your rental request, submit the request to the lender. If they approve it, the item will appear in your Actions Tab under Start Rental and later in Return. You'll then be prompted to mark the rental as “Out for Pickup.” This sends a notification to the lender that you’re en route, helping coordinate timing.
If you're doing a locker pickup, Rentifi requires you to upload photos of the item before and after your possession. These timestamped images act as your shared audit trail and protect both parties. When picking up in person, a secure pickup code is provided via email. You’ll present this to the lender, who must input the code to verify the handoff.
Once the item is in your possession and all photos have been submitted (if applicable), tap “Start Rental.” The rental will now move to the Return tab, where you'll also find CTAs for messaging support, accessing usage instructions (if provided), and initiating the return.
When the rental period ends, you’ll be asked to take return photos (especially if the item goes back to a locker). Click “Submit and End Rental” once done. You’ll then be prompted to leave a review—optional but highly encouraged.
To track your full rental journey, visit the Rentifi Rentals Tab, where you can view items in Pending, Active, or Complete states. Completed rentals include a full cost breakdown, history of communication, and condition logs.
