Listing an item on Rentifi is a great way to earn passive income while contributing to a shared economy rooted in trust and accessibility. Start by logging into the Rentifi marketplace and clicking “List New Item.” You’ll be prompted to upload high-quality photos, add a detailed description, and categorize the item to ensure it’s discoverable by relevant borrowers.
Next, define your rental availability dates and set pricing (daily, weekly, or monthly). Then choose your preferred handoff method: in-person or via a nearby Rentifi-enabled locker. If selecting a locker, you can choose your default locker location from the app’s integrated map.
Once your listing goes live, renters can submit requests. When a request comes in, you’ll receive a notification and can choose to approve or decline. Upon approval, the rental appears in your Actions Tab under Upcoming Rentals. When the renter marks the rental as “Out for Pickup,” you’ll be notified and should prepare the item for handoff.
If you're using a locker, you'll be required to upload images of the item’s condition before locking it in. These images act as an audit trail. When the borrower arrives, they’ll use a secure code you input to verify pickup. For in-person exchanges, that same code-based validation ensures the item goes to the correct user.
Once the borrower marks the rental as started, you’ll see it shift to Active Rentals. When they return it, you’ll be prompted to check the item—and if needed, take post-return photos. You can then mark the transaction as complete, at which point the item moves to Completed Rentals.
All completed rentals are logged in your Rentals Tab, where you can access the full transaction history, cost breakdown, and rental flow.
