Change requests and visits: what’s the difference?

In 2houses, the calendar is based on where the child spends the night. This is why temporary changes are managed differently depending on whether an overnight stay is involved or not.

🔄 Change request

Use a change request when you want to:

  • Change one or more nights from one parent to the other

  • Modify the usual overnight schedule for a specific date

A change request affects where the child sleeps, and therefore updates the calendar accordingly.

🕒 Visit

Use a visit when you want to:

  • Add or change a daytime visit

  • Without changing where the child sleeps

A visit does not include an overnight stay and does not affect the night allocation in the calendar.

Choosing the correct option helps keep the calendar clear and avoids confusion between day visits and overnight stays.
