The Toolpath Viewer is a powerful tool that allows you to diagnose printing issues before they occur.

To open the Toolpath Viewer, click on the .gcode file row or the Preview button.

What Are the Possibilities?

  1. The legend bar on the left displays the model layers' speed based on color.

  2. You can examine your model layer by layer using the slider on the right toolbar.

  3. There are four toggles to manage which parts of the print are displayed:

    • Show Extrusion – Displays the model extrusion.

    • Show Infill—This is disabled by default, as it uses a lot of resources, especially when previewing large prints (>50 MB).

    • Show Service Parts – Visualizes supports and build plate adhesion.

    • Show Motion – Displays printer head movements.

  4. Animation – Preview the print process.

  5. Short Info

    1. Filament Needed

    2. Estimated Print Time

    3. Cost – If your organization uses billing logic

  6. Full Info

It provides print details: Material, Build Plate Adhesion, Supports, Printer Type, Temperatures, Length, Weight, and Printing Duration.

  7. Slicing Info

Displays slicing parameters' values applied to the model. Available only for files sliced in 3DPrinterOS.

The Toolpath Viewer uses your hardware resources to visualize prints. Sometimes, large models may take a while to render. You can decrease the file size by removing the print's infill. The toggle state is saved, so once you disable showing the infill for one model, it will remain disabled for the next model by default.
