Introduction

Technicians can be tracked using their Mobile App locations to deliver better ETAs to customers, provide directions to a destination, to monitor daily progress and more.

Allowing Location Access

To allow locations to be sent to 3C Connect from the Mobile App, the feature must be enabled when the app is installed and started up for the first time. A dialog like this will be shown once a technician has logged in to the app:

You must select the option "Allow" in order to receive location updates on the 3C Connect website.

Tracking Locations from 3C Connect

Navigating to the Locations page in the 3C Connect website will display all technicians with location-enabled Mobile Apps on a map.

The first view that will be displayed will show a list of all your technicians along with any available locations on a map.

At the top right corner, you can see the latest location updates from all technicians.

  • The blue marker means the technician successfully sent its latest location.

  • The red marker means we aren't able to receive the latest technician location updates, or we never received any at all. See How to Fix Location Issues.

To view an appointment history, or to track current and upcoming appointments, select a technician by clicking on their location pin or by searching for their name and selecting them in the list. Their appointments for the selected date will appear in order, with a line drawn between them. The list of technicians will change to a list of appointments for the currently-selected technician.

Hover and click on an appointment to view more details about it.

There are other useful features that can be used on the map, like searching for a location or landmark on the map, or using the date selector to view previous, current and upcoming appointments for each technician.
