The QuickBooks Synchronizer will allow you to export, import and link your customers between 3C Connect and QuickBooks. Linking a customer or site creates a one to one relationship between a customer or a site in your 3C Connect and QuickBooks programs.
To access the QuickBooks Synchronizer, navigate to your 3C Connect settings and find "Synchronization" under the QuickBooks heading in the settings navigation at the left of your screen.
There are two halves of the synchronizer that correspond to each program: one for QuickBooks and one for 3C Connect.
Exporting or Importing Customers
To bring customers from one program to the other, you'll want to use the "Create in 3C Connect" and "Create in QuickBooks" buttons. This will create a copy of that customer or site and link the two together.
For example, searching our 3C Connect and QuickBooks customer bases for Clark Sullivan, we can see that this customer isn't linked and doesn't exist in QuickBooks. We can select this customer and click "Create in QuickBooks".
Until your QuickBooks Web Connector has finished synchronizing (see your QuickBooks General Settings to see how to change the frequency), you will see an hourglass icon indicating that the export is pending.
When the Web Connector is finished, Clark Sullivan will appear in the QuickBooks customer base.
Since Clark Sullivan is now linked between the two programs, when the synchronizer is refreshed and his name is searched again, we'll see the link icon.
When a customer or site with a link is clicked on and selected, their linked counterpart in the other program will appear on the other side of the synchronizer.
There are a few things to keep in mind when synchronizing a customer or site:
If existing sites are being linked, the parent customer will also be linked.
If existing customers are being linked, the child sites are not automatically linked.
A site in 3C Connect with a linked parent customer can't be linked to a site in QuickBooks belonging to a different parent customer in QuickBooks.
If a site is exported from 3C Connect to QuickBooks and the parent customer is already linked, a site will be created under that customer in QuickBooks.
If a site is exported from 3C Connect to QuickBooks and the parent customer is not linked, then a new customer and site will be created in QuickBooks. Be sure to link any existing parent customers first to avoid duplication.
