Setting Up Email Whitelabeling

With email whitelabeling, you can send email and invoices using your own domain name (like hello@exampleheating.com) instead of the default 3C Connect email address (noreply@3cconnect.com). Customers will see the email address you select, so you'll want to make sure it's professional.

And it gets even better: if you use an email address for an inbox that your team monitors regularly, you'll be able to see any replies from your customers and respond to them directly, and your email deliverability will be improved.

Only the user with the Owner permission can set up email whitelabeling. This user will also need access to make changes to their DNS configuration. This is usually done through a domain service provider (like GoDaddy or Namecheap).

To begin, navigate to the Initial Setup page under the Email Settings heading in your 3C Connect settings.

Initial Setup

You'll be walked through setup step by step. During the final step, you'll create DNS records with your domain service provider. There are a few considerations to keep in mind during this process:

  • You won't be able to use a domain that you don't own (@yahoo.com, @msn.com, etc.).

  • We recommend using an email your team monitors so you can view and respond to customer replies.

  • Once you've changed your DNS, it can take up to 24 hours to complete, but usually happens in less than 10 minutes.

To test that the configuration worked, you can send yourself an invoice through 3C Connect.

Results

The Results page in your Email Settings will display any errors or problems, like dropped messages.

Unsubscribes

Customers who requested to be removed from your email correspondence will show up in the Unsubscribes page of your Email Settings.

Once a customer unsubscribes, any further communication with these email addresses will be blocked. You can re-subscribe a customer by removing them from this list, but you should do so only if the customer has requested it.
