Our Wooden Boxes are made from a base construction of MDF and then they are finished with High Quality Veneers. In most cases we us Black Walnut from the Appalachian Mountains which is then sprayed with either varnish or a painted finish. The boxes are then over-sprayed with anti scratch coatings. The inside of the box is then lined out in high quality materials, this not only offers a Luxury finish but also offers some additional protection from any residues and gases released from what is a natural product over the longer period of time.

If you utilise the 3XM Mats in the Ultimate folio box They are made from a professional Archival board, which conforms to the Fine Art Trade Guild requirements for Conservation (level 2). Each board is alkaline-sized, acid-free and calcium carbonate buffered for enhanced durability and longevity.

In summary we do not advertise our Wooden boxes as archival quality products, we simply take measures to minimise any impact that might be caused by the timber construction over a long period of time.
