In this article you can read more about the different levels of the Excel challenges. It explains which skills go with which level and how you can take the assessment that will help you determine which level is best for you.
You can click on Excel in the programs at the top right from the Library. The overview of all Excel tracks will be displayed then.
Within the Excel Standard curriculum, a distinction is made between three levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
Beginner Excel
In the Beginner tracks, you are introduced to the most fundamental parts of Excel. You will learn to understand and modify workbooks and worksheets. Other topics covered include creating simple calculations and diagrams and printing your work.
It is recommended that everyone starts with 'Beginner Excel 1'. Even if you are already familiar with Excel, because it can be good to start at the basics. If this is way too easy, you can always move on to 'Beginner Excel 2' or to an Intermediate/Advanced track.
Not sure which level to start? Then scroll down a bit in this article where you read about the assessment.
Intermediate Excel
The Intermediate tracks teaches you how to work efficiently in Excel with data, functions, tables, analysis, and charts. The Medium level challenges are a bit more difficult than the Beginner challenges and will help you work with Excel even faster and easier.
Advanced Excel
In the Advanced tracks, the focus is on building complex, error-free and user-friendly models. More complicated Excel functions for building models are covered. These tracks develop your model programming skills.
Excel assessment: which level suits you
The three levels of learning may be a bit abstract. Do you find it difficult to determine what your current level is? Then take a short assessment consisting of a few multiple-choice questions. A recommendation on the best level to start will be made then.
It is important in the short assessment that you do not gamble, as this may cause you to 'accidentally' get a question right and be recommended too high a level. If you do not know an answer to a question, click 'I don't know'. At the end you will be advised a track on which you can start. Does it seem too high/low a level to you? You are not stuck to anything and can always switch
.
Do you notice during the track that the level does not suit you? Read in this article how you can switch tracks.
