This article is about the Microsoft Office-program PowerPoint. It explains what PowerPoint is, what you can use it for, and the ways you can master PowerPoint.

PowerPoint is an Office program that is best used for creating efficient presentations.

For a list of all the PowerPoint-challenges, first go to the Library.

The Library can be found by clicking on Library in the upper right corner of the tool.

Then click on PowerPoint in the upper left corner of all programs to see the range of PowerPoint tracks and challenges available.

Using PowerPoint

PowerPoint is the perfect tool for creating the best presentations. Accompanying a presentation with a slide presentation gives structure and images to your story. Another great advantage of PowerPoint is that you can give people a handout. Many people think that they already know how to use PowerPoint, but the program has a lot more to offer than you think!

Levels within PowerPoint

To get started with PowerPoint, you can learn through the Standard Curriculum. In total, you can do four different PowerPoint tracks here: a beginner track, two intermediate tracks, and an advanced track.

Beginner PowerPoint

The Beginner's level track is for anyone who wants to start from scratch. You will be introduced to the basics of PowerPoint to create presentations efficiently.

Intermediate PowerPoint

When you have completed the Beginner track, you can move on to the tracks ‘Intermediate PowerPoint 1' and then ‘Intermediate PowerPoint 2' to take your presentations to the next level. With handy shortcuts and tips, you will learn to create presentations that are easy to design and follow, and hard to forget.

Advanced PowerPoint

The advanced PowerPoint track is designed to help you become a master slide designer. With tips and tricks from professionals, you will learn how to combine shapes into your own creations.

Assessment: determine your level within PowerPoint

The three levels of learning may seem a little abstract. Do you find it difficult to determine your current level? Take a short assessment consisting of a few multiple-choice questions. You will then be given an assessment of the best place to start.

At the bottom of the PowerPoint overview in the Library, you see: 'Do you find it difficult to determine your current skill level? Click here to do a short assessment and we will recommend a level that suits you best'. When you click on 'here', a small window opens, asking you a number of questions.

It is important not to gamble in the short assessment, as you may 'accidentally' get a question right and be advised a too high level. If you do not know the answer to a question, click on 'I don't know'. At the end, a track will be recommended on which you can start. Does the level seem too high/low to you? You are not tied to anything and can always switch.

Do you notice during the track that the level does not suit you? Read in this article how you can switch tracks.

Topic related learning within PowerPoint: Create better presentations

Within PowerPoint, in addition to the Standard curriculum, you can also learn by topic. Now, one subject-specific track is offered: 'Making better presentations'.

This track at Beginner's level teaches you in several challenges how to make better presentations. You learn how to get a problem clear, how to argue a solution and how to make a convincing presentation based on this.
