To set up asset rules, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Asset Section: Start by heading to the platform's "Asset" section and select the asset for which you'd like to set up rules.

  2. Access the Rules Tab: Once the asset's overview page loads, click on the "Rules" tab.

Review Default Rules: On the Rules page, you'll see any default rules associated with the commodity stored in your asset. These can be used as a starting point or left as is.

Add or Modify Rules:

  • Click on the "+ Add Rule" button to create a new rule.

  • Alternatively, use the icons on the right side of an existing rule to activate, deactivate, edit, or delete it.

Create a New Rule:

  • Upon clicking "+ Add Rule," a pop-up window will appear.

  • You can choose to create a rule based on specific "Conditions" (e.g., temperature, stored commodity moisture levels, ambient temperature, etc.) or "Connectivity" (e.g., device status, such as sensors or gateways).

Condition Rules

When creating a new condition-based rule, you can:

  • Name and Describe the Rule: Provide a clear name or description for the rule.

  • Define the Condition: Use the drop-down options to specify the condition that will trigger the rule. This could involve sending notifications or activating/deactivating actuators (e.g., turning on fans when the temperature exceeds 100°F (37.7°C) within 48 hours).

  • Save the Rule: Once you've configured the rule, press "Save" to activate it.

Example: You might set up a rule that sends an in-app notification, an email, and turns on fans if the product temperature exceeds 100°F (37.7°C) within 48 hours.

Connectivity Rules

For connectivity-based rules, you can:

  • Name and Describe the Rule: Similar to condition rules, start by naming and describing the rule.

  • Monitor Device Status: Select one or more devices (e.g., gateways or sensors) to monitor. The rule can trigger notifications or control actuators based on the device's status.

  • Save the Rule: After setting up your conditions, press "Save" to apply the rule.

Example: You might create a rule that sends an in-app notification, an email, and turns off fans if a gateway becomes inactive for 5 hours. This ensures that machinery isn’t running without full remote control.
