Causes of mold
Basically, it can be anticipated that the material of your bottle should have no connection to the formation of mold. As with any product that comes into contact with food and bacteria, mold can also form on our bottles. However, this is most likely not due to a material defect.
Mold usually occurs either if the bottle is not cleaned regularly or due to residual moisture in the bottle caused by incorrect storage.
In both cases, however, intensive cleaning helps to remove the mold.
Prevent mold growth
Correct storage of the bottle
First of all, an important tip to prevent mold growth: you should always store your bottle without the lid, i.e. unscrew it beforehand. This allows the bottle to dry out properly and prevents moisture from being trapped in the bottle. Otherwise, the residual moisture in the bottle cannot escape, which encourages mold growth.
Regular cleaning
Especially if you use your bottle with sugary drinks, you should clean your bottle and the lid thoroughly after each use.
For regular cleaning of your bottle, you should definitely take a look at our cleaning products.

Intensive cleaning
Add a dishwasher detergent tab or a packet of baking soda to the bottle.
Fill the bottle with hot (not boiling) water and leave to stand for a few hours (ideally overnight).
Then simply tip out the contents and rinse the bottle well under warm water.
Or
Add two teaspoons of salt to the bottle,
then pour in hot (not boiling) water.
Then leave to work (overnight if necessary) and shake well every now and then.
Finally, rinse the bottle well
For stubborn residues: our cleaning beads
For stubborn residues or if you want to be on the safe side, we recommend our cleaning pearls.
You can add these to the bottle with hot water and washing-up liquid and rinse thoroughly.
The small beads get right into the edges and the friction on the inside of the bottle ensures that every last particle of dirt is swept away.
