How do I set up Banzai and ClassLink?

Set up student accounts via ClassLink roster.

If your school or district uses ClassLink, you can bypass manual class codes and links. Use rostering to automatically sync your classes into the Banzai platform.

Step 1: District Authorization

Before you can sync your classes, your district’s IT or administrator must first enable the Banzai app and authorize rostering for your district.

If you don’t see Banzai in your ClassLink Launchpad, have your IT department or school district admin add and approve the Banzai app for rostering.

Step 2: Set up your Teacher Account

Once your district has enabled the connection, you're ready to sign up.

  1. Log in to your ClassLink Launchpad.

  2. Click the Banzai icon.

  3. Choose Sign Up with ClassLink. Banzai automatically pulls in the classes assigned to you in the district’s system.

Note: When you log in after the initial setup, simply click the Banzai icon, then select Log In with ClassLink.

Step 3: Automatic Roster Syncing

Once you have logged in to Banzai, you’ll see your classes appear automatically in the app. Your student roster (names and usernames) is pre-populated.

Any changes made to your roster in the district’s main system (like a new student joining your class) will typically sync to Banzai automatically within 24 hours.

Step 4: Students Join

Students simply log in to their ClassLink Launchpad and click the Banzai icon—no need for class codes or signup links. Students are instantly logged into their student dashboard and can begin their Banzai assignments right away.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing app? If you can’t find the Banzai app on your Launchpad, your district has most likely not enabled or approved the Banzai app for your school or role. Contact your district IT administrator to request access.

  • Missing classes? If your Banzai account is empty or a specific class section is missing, ask your district’s ClassLink/IT administrator to verify that your course is included in their Banzai sharing rules. Districts occasionally filter out electives, CTE, or non-core subjects by default.

  • Missing students? If your roster looks incorrect, check with your registrar first to make sure students are assigned to your class in the district’s Student Information System (SIS). Because syncs run on a schedule, newly rostered students typically appear within 24 hours.

  • Deleted a class? If you delete a class in the Banzai platform, you’ll need to manually add it back in and ask students to sign up via email or class codes. Currently, you cannot recreate a deleted class.
