What happens to my investments if I close my account?

This article explains what will happen to your investments when you close your CUSP account.

Managing Your Investments Before Closure

Before we can close your account, you’ll need to decide what to do with your investments:

  • Sell your investments → Liquidate your holdings and withdraw the cash to your linked bank account.

  • Transfer your assets → Move your holdings to another broker (fees may apply, depending on the receiving institution).

Why This Is Required

  • Investments cannot remain in your account after closure.

  • Selling or transferring your assets ensures everything is settled correctly.

  • This protects your ownership rights and keeps your account compliant with UAE financial regulations.

Important Notes

  • The CUSP support team will guide you through the process step by step.

  • If you choose to transfer your assets, the timeline may depend on your new broker.

  • Once your account is closed, you’ll still be able to download your historical account documents for 7 days.
