Curious about how to add members (co-founders) to your LLC? This guide will help you understand the process both before and after your LLC formation. You can add members in two cases:

  1. After purchase, before formation

  2. After formation

The easiest way is to add LLC Members during purchase, as it won't require modifying your LLC post-formation, and incur into processing fees due to filing an amendment with the state.

1. Before the formation of the LLC

If you’ve purchased a formation package and your LLC hasn’t been filed with the state yet, you can add members during the initial setup:

• During the post-purchase onboarding flow, you’ll be asked to provide details about your LLC members.

• This onboarding process starts automatically from your dashboard once you complete your purchase.

Log in to your dashboard after checkout to proceed with adding your members.

2. After the formation of the LLC

If you have previously submitted your members and need to view, change, remove, or add member details on an existing formation, please contact our Customer Success department for assistance with changing your members. Some states will require an amendment and processing fee to change your members. In some cases, you can make changes to members in your Annual Report.
