How to replace an item that is added to the quote with another item

Sometimes you may need to replace an item in your quote with a similar item. This can be because the original item is unavailable, discontinued, or because the customer prefers a specific brand.

In such cases, you can use the "Find and Replace" feature to quickly replace items instead of having to delete them and add replacement items. Find and Replace will replace the exact item quantity and you can choose to retain labor and accessories from the original item.

To start the item replacement process, click the item that needs to be replaced, and then click "Replace" in the item's side panel. This will launch the Find and Replace assistant.

You can use the assistant as follows:

Replace Item in One Location

In the Find and Replace assistant, select "Replace selected item," search for the replacement item, and click "Select."

Now select your replace option and click "Replace." The original item will be replaced by the new item in the location from where you launched the assistant.

In this example, we are replacing the Luma camera with an ENS Security camera in the family room.

Replace Item in Multiple Locations

This is agnostic to where you launch the assistant from. In the Find and Replace assistant, select "Replace items in locations." This will show all locations in the quote in the side panel.

Select the locations where the item needs to be replaced, search for the replacement item, and click "Select."

Now select your replace options and click "Replace." The original item will be replaced by the new item in all selected locations.

In the example, we are replacing the Luma camera with an ENS Security camera Sony TV in the family room and backyard.

*Note that if you select "All" for locations in the side panel, Cloud will replace the item throughout the quote.
