Customers may want to see the effectiveness of products such as cameras, Wi-Fi routers, and speakers regarding their "Coverage." Coverage denotes how wide and far out in 3D space the product is functional.
On Cloud, you can enable product coverage in visual quotes and proposals. This can help reassure the customer that you have the right products in the right position on the site.
Configure coverage in the quote
To configure coverage from the quote, click the item and select the "Coverage" toggle in its side panel. You will now see three coverage parameters.
Angle is how wide in 3D space the product functionality works. For example, a Wi-Fi router can provide connectivity to devices placed around it. Hence, the angle is 360°.
Length is the distance in 3D space, in feet, to which the product functionality works. For example, a Wi-Fi router can provide connectivity to devices up to 150 feet away.
Direction depends on where the product's lens, antenna, or any other output component is facing. Direction may not be relevant to products such as Wi-Fi routers that send signals 360°.
You also have the option to select a color for the coverage. Using different colors for products of different systems can help customers easily see the coverage of the products.
Next, select whether this coverage configuration should apply only to this item, all items of this type in the plan view, or all items of this category.
You also have the option to set a color for the coverage. This can help you differentiate coverage for different items in the quote.
The following is an example of a quote where coverage is enabled for cameras and Wi-Fi routers. Notice how cameras have been configured with the same angle and length but in different directions.
Predefine coverage in the catalog
You also have the option to enable coverage for products in their "Specs & Coverage" tab beforehand based on their specifications.
This way, you only have to enable coverage from the toolbar, and the quote will show product coverage.
Show coverage in the plan view
To show product coverage on the plan view, click the "Settings" wheel on the toolbar and set the "Coverage" toggle to ON.
All products for which you have configured coverage, either in the quote or the catalog, will show their coverage area.
Before finalizing the quote, you can check the product coverage by the systems they are associated with.
Product coverage in the proposal
If you have set the Coverage toggle to ON and added the plan view to the "Attachments" section in the proposal, the customer can view the product coverage.
When the customer clicks "View" in the "Attachments" section, they can view the coverage of the products by the systems they are associated with.
