Before creating a new station, 1) confirm that there is not an existing station at the location in question, and 2) confirm your agency's Station naming convention, and 3) note the next available Station ID in the sequence.

In the example below, we will assume that the agency uses a four-digit naming convention, and the highest existing Station ID is 3999, so we will create Station ID 4000 (the next available station in the sequence).

  1. Click the settings gear and select Station Management.

2. In the top right of the Stations pop-up, click the Add Station button.

3. Navigate to the location of the new station in the map in the top right corner, then right click to place the station. Placing the station autofills the following fields:

  • Station location

  • Latitude

  • Longitude

4. Choose the Station Type (midblock or intersection) and fill out the Station Name field.

5. Fill out the approaches in the bottom right corner.

a. Intersections: fill out all four approaches, even if the intersection does not have four legs. Use "--" or "n/a" for non-existent approaches.

b. Midblock: fill out both approaches. Please note that EB/WB or NB/SB is important - the station will only accept data uploads for the assigned directions.

6. Fill in the Station ID field with the next available Station ID in the agency's sequence and click Save.

(In our example, the highest existing Station ID is 3999, so we will assign 4000 to the new station).
