DataPoint supports the import of volume, speed, and class reports in 15- and 60-minute intervals from TraxPro.

1) Open the File menu and select Export > Peek/Streeter PRN

2) Enter the DataPoint Station ID and select the output folder and click Next.

The Station ID goes in the ID Number field (case sensitive).

The Output Folder tells TraxPro where to save the file.

The settings below will export a .prn for Station ID MB-018TZ to the user’s desktop.

3) Set interval length, Date/Time, Day Options, and Compatibility. Click Next.

DataPoint accepts 15- and 60-minute interval lengths.

Day Options: Export as 1 large file

Compatibility: Default

4) Assign cardinal directions to the Directions and click Next.

The directions must match the preset directions of the DataPoint Station.

The example below shows a NB/SB midblock count.

If two directions were collected, but only a single direction needs to be exported, uncheck the checkbox to the left of the undesired Direction.

Do not check the Combined Selected Channels Into One Direction checkbox. At this time, DataPoint does not support Combined midblock data.

The Lane Layout values are not used by DataPoint. However, TraxPro requires an entry in this field. Choose any value.

5) Change the file name to reflect the Station ID (optional)

TraxPro assigns a random alphanumeric filename to the exported .prn. Since DataPoint reads the Station ID from the metadata inside the .prn and auto-assigns the count, it is not required that the file name be changed. However, best file management practice would be to update the file name of the .prn to provide some indication of the count in case of import problems.
