Can I trade news?

Updated over a week ago

High-impact news can lead to extreme market volatility, and therefore E8Markets does not allow trading or holding trades through news on Simulated Funded accounts and E8Pro Dedicated accounts.

Users are allowed to place and hold trades during news on evaluation accounts.

All positions must be flattened at least two minutes prior to the scheduled T1 News event. This policy is designed to protect both the trader and the integrity of E8 Trader Stage (Simulated Funded) and E8Pro Dedicated accounts.

T1 news events are defined as economic or geopolitical announcements that have the potential to significantly influence financial markets. This includes, but is not limited to, central bank decisions, economic indicators, and major political events.

a. Holding trades during news

b. Opening new trades (Market Execution/Limit orders)

c. Closing trades (Market Execution/Limit orders)

Please note that all positions must be flattened at least two minutes prior to the scheduled T1 News event, and may only be reopened at least two minutes after the the scheduled T1 News event.
