Spaces in Eggy let you organise, share and manage just the info you need for all the parts of your life, along with the help of others.
What are spaces in Eggy?
Spaces are a way of grouping information in Eggy.
You have a Personal space in your Eggy app which is a private space where you can organise, share and manage all your own important info.
But with Eggy Pro, you can create additional spaces on top of that which make it easier to organise, share and manage your info.
Each space that you create in Eggy includes:
a shared calendar;
a shared digital vault with categories; and
shared tickable checklists.
As an Eggy Pro member, you can invite up to 14 others into any of the spaces that you create.
The people who you invite into your spaces don't have to be Eggy Pro members though. They can just be on the free version of Eggy but still contribute files, events and lists into that shared space.
This way, groups like families and friends, as well as communities, such as school parents and businesses can all contribute to the space. And manage the mental load of life admin together.
The most common spaces that people create in Eggy are:
Family
School
Sport
Work
Property
Where do I find the spaces in Eggy?
Your spaces in Eggy can be accessed through your Spaces screen in the Eggy app.
Any spaces that you create or are invited into will live right alongside your Personal space in Eggy.
Each space has it's own set of categories and can have up to 15 people in it.
Anything added to a shared space, will be automatically shared with the other person/people in that space.
If you need to share anything out of your Personal space, you can do that on a per-item basis.
At any time, you can edit and then 'Move' or 'Copy' and then re-categorise the file, event or list to put it into one of your other shared spaces, like your Family space.
How do I create a space in Eggy?
The basic steps to create a space in Eggy are to:
Go to the Spaces screen
Tap on 'New' to create a new space
Add your customised categories into the space
Invite others in to that space
Here's a bit more detail on how to create a space in Eggy:
Open your Eggy app and go to the Vault
Tap on the '+' New symbol at the top of the screen
Add a name, avatar pic or emoji, and select a colour for the space
Tap Done
Tap Create space
Go ahead and set up the categories for that space
Tap the '+' button to add any files events or lists into that space
Invite others into the space
Contribute files, events and lists to that space along with the help of the others in that space.
Everyone in that space will have access to the files, events and lists added into that space.
As the admin/owner of the space, you can give others either 'View' or 'Edit' access.
Just tap on the three dots in the top right corner to manage the space, invite others in and change member permissions to view or edit.
How to invite others into an Eggy space?
Users can be invited into a space through a single invite link.
Go to the Spaces screen and tap on the space that you want to invite others into.
Tap on the three dots up on the top right of the space
Tap on the 'Share/Invite' button
Tap on 'Copy Link', then when the share sheet pops up, choose how you want to invite others in (via text message, email etc)
Once the other person/people tap on the invitation and follow the prompts, they'll be given access to the space and everything in it.
This means you don't have to share files, events and lists ion a per-item basis like you do in the Personal space.
How do I give 'View' or 'Edit' permissions to others in the space?
As the admin/owner of the space, you can grant either "View" or "Edit" permission to each person in the space depending on what you want them to have.
View access - gives a person the ability to see everything in the vault but they can't add new items to the shared space.
Edit access - gives a person the ability to add items into the categories in the shared space. Note: they can't delete your items. Only the owner/creator of an item can delete it from the space.
Note: To be an admin in a shared space, you must be an Eggy Pro member.
How do I leave a space?
If you no longer wish to be part of a shared space, just leave the space like this:
Go to the spaces screen
Tap on the space that you want to leave
Tap on the three dots in the top right corner
Then tap "Leave Space"
