Control the flow of guests by limiting bookings for certain arrival times

The Guest limit plan lets you control the flow of people coming to your venue. For example, even if your seating capacity would allow it, you don't want a large number of people to book at 19:00, because that would effectively mean you can only use the table once in the evening.

You might have a maximum capacity in your venue of, say, 50 people. If you do not control the flow, then hypothetically all 50 people could book to arrive at exactly the same time. This might leave your kitchen and waiting staff overstretched, and your guests would have a poor experience. The solution is to limit the number of people arriving simultaneously to a lower number, say, 25. That means that once 25 people have booked for a particular time, that time will no longer be available for booking.

Regulating the flow of guests

Set the number of guests who can book for different times.

Navigation bar: Administration > Settings

Page: Opening hours

  1. Click Guest limit plan.

  2. For Monday, set the from and to times to indicate the period of time for which you'd like to set a limit.

  3. In the Max guests per 1/2 hour column, set a limit.

  4. If you would like to regulate guest flow for more than one period of time, click the + symbol to add more periods.

  5. If all or most days are similar to Monday, click Copy to all days.

  6. Set or update the time slots and maximum guests for the rest of the days as necessary.

  7. Click Save guests plan.

Remember that slot is the starting time for a booking. If a slot has a from time of 13:00 and a to time of 13:30, that means that all bookings starting at any point in time between 13:00 and 13:30, inclusive, are affected. If you want to limit bookings at, say, only 19:00 exactly, set both the from and to times to 19:00.
