With GoRetro's teams feature, you can create retrospective boards that will only be accessible to a certain team and its members.

There are 3 user roles in GoRetro:

  • Team owner - has full access to all the meeting facilitating features and options. A team owner can also assign admins to the team, invite new members and remove members.

  • Team admin - has full access to all the meeting facilitating features and options. A team owner can also invite new members.

  • Team member - can participate by adding cards, comments, votes and more. Not all the meeting facilitating features will not be accessible to members.

Creating a new team in GoRetro

  1. Select the "Teams" tab

  2. Click on "Add Team"

  3. In the "Name" field, add the team's name

  4. Click on create

Adding teammates to your team

You can use one of the following methods:

1. Invite by email

  1. On the relevant team card click on "Invite team members".

  2. Type all the emails you would like to invite to the team separated by a comma in the text box.

  3. Click on "Invite" and an email will be sent to the team members to sign up and/or join the team.

2. Generate an invite link

  1. On the relevant team card click on "Generate Invite Link"

  2. Click on "Copy link"

  3. You can now share the link with multiple members, once they click it they will be able to signup or login and join the team.

3. Directly from your board

If you've already created a team board you can also invite your team members directly from your board by clicking the "Invite Members" button at the top right of your board.

Editing existing teams

To edit an existing team's name

On the relevant team card, click on the pencil icon, update the team's name and hit enter.

To delete an existing team

First, make sure you delete all the team's boards (following these instructions). Once the team does not have any boards, select the "teams" tab and click on "Delete Team" on the relevant team card.

Note: You can also create public boards to share with your team members using a shareable link, without creating a team. This is comfortable to use if you want to give GoRetro a quick first-time run.

Assigning an admin to the team

A team owner can assign one of the team members to be the team admin. The team admin will have access to all the facilitating features and team owner has.

To assign a team member as an admin :

  1. Click on the menu near the team member's name

  2. Choose "Assign as admin"

To un-assign a team member as an admin :

  1. Click on the menu near the team member's name

  2. Choose "Un-assign as admin"
