Max Trailing End of Day (EOD) Drawdown is a risk management mechanism used across HyperTicks account types. It defines the maximum allowable loss based on your account balance at the end of each trading day. This rule helps promote consistent risk management and protects both the trader and the firm from excessive losses.
What Is Max Trailing EOD Drawdown?
Trailing EOD Drawdown is calculated based on your closed balance at the end of each day. Unlike intraday drawdown rules, it does not monitor floating losses. Instead, it tracks your balance after all trades are closed for the day and adjusts the drawdown level accordingly.
The drawdown "trails" upwards with your end-of-day gains but never reverses or decreases, even if your balance drops later.
Not every HyperTicks account uses this model — HYPER Intra and Instant Flex use an intraday trailing drawdown instead, which follows your floating balance in real time rather than your end-of-day closed balance.
