What Is the Microscalping Policy at Hyperticks?

This article explains what microscalping is, why it is prohibited, and provides clear examples of trading behavior that falls under this policy.

Microscalping is strictly prohibited on Hyperticks accounts across all phases — evaluation, simulated funded, and instant funded. This trading approach involves placing trades that last only a few seconds and aim for very small profits. While it may seem appealing in certain market conditions, microscalping creates execution challenges, puts stress on server infrastructure, and exploits the limitations of simulated environments.

What Counts as Microscalping?

  • Short Duration Trades: Positions typically held for less than 15 seconds.

  • Very Small Profit Targets: Trades aiming for under 5 ticks (or points) of profit.

  • Tight Stops and Limits: Use of ultra-tight SL/TP brackets to minimize risk and capture quick movements.

  • High Trade Frequency: Dozens or even hundreds of trades in a single session, each targeting tiny price changes.

Why It Is Prohibited

  • In live markets, such strategies are not sustainable due to slippage, latency, and order fill delays.

  • Microscalping artificially inflates performance in simulated environments where slippage and execution delays are not accurately replicated.

  • It leads to unrealistic trading outcomes, undermining the fairness and integrity of Hyperticks' funding process.

Example 1: This trade was closed within a few seconds. Such rapid in-and-out execution is considered microscalping and will be flagged.

Example 2: The position was held for just 10 seconds. Repeated trades of this nature constitute microscalping behavior.

Example 3: This fast entry and exit trade is another instance of prohibited microscalping activity.

NOTICE: Closing a few trades under 15 seconds will not make your account fall under microscalping. Occasional short-duration trades are not an issue as long as your overall trading activity follows our rules and policies.
