Setting up Late Submissions in your activities

Navigate to your course, and select ‘Activities’, which can be found on the taskbar on the left

If you are creating an activity, go through the 'Create Activity' tab and set up your activity first. Refer to the Individual Activities article for a walkthrough on how to set up an activity.

If you already have an activity set up, select "Edit Activity"

  1. Go to the Rubric & Settings section, and scroll all the way down to "Settings"

  2. Select ‘Expand’ to view the full settings, and Expand the Late Submissions Settings as well

  3. Choose your preferred Late Submissions setting(s): Allow Late Submissions, Auto-accept Late Submissions, or Apply Late Penalties

  • Allow Late Submissions - Students are able to submit Creations and Evaluations beyond the assigned due date. You will have to manually accept each late submitted. If disabled, no late submissions will be allowed beyond the due date.

  • Auto-accept late submissions - This can only be enabled if "Allow Late Submissions" is turned on. When enabled, you will automatically accept all late submissions for the Create and Evaluate stages, and all late creations will be automatically assigned eligible Evaluators.

  • Apply Late Penalties - When late submissions are enabled, you will have the choice to assign a penalty percentage for late submissions in the Create and Evaluate stages.

Note: an eligible Evaluator is any student that has not begun their evaluations yet. When auto-accepting late creations, eligible Evaluators will be randomly assigned to evaluate the creation.

Please note, all late submissions received past the Evaluate stage will have to be graded manually by you, as there would be no eligible Evaluators.

Late Penalties

When Late Submissions are allowed and Late Penalties are turned on, you are able to set a One Time Penalty or Enable a Daily Penalty. The default is always set to "Enable One Time Penalty"

To set up a One Time Penalty, enable the One Time Penalty option and set your one-time penalty percentage

To set up a Daily Penalty, enable the Daily Penalty option and set your daily pentalty percentage

4. Save and continue. Your Late Submission Settings are now set!
