When setting the MOL Bubi Fare Policy for the new generation, BKK drew on the results of a lengthy analysis process, market experience and user feedback, whilst also striving to ensure that the service remains widely accessible. The new MOL Bubi is not merely a change in pricing, but a significantly revamped service. The new system is launching with a larger, flexibly expandable fleet, which now includes electric-assist bicycles, and the coverage of the service area will also be expanded in the future. In addition, the entire back-office system is more modern and digitally advanced, enabling more reliable operation and a better user experience. It is also important to note that the operation of the public bike-share scheme is underpinned by complex operational and maintenance processes, which ensure continuous availability and the safety of the service. The new generation represents a higher standard in these areas too. At the same time, Bubi continues to operate as a public service: its aim is not to make a profit, but to provide a competitive and sustainable alternative for urban transport and to make cycling in Budapest accessible to as many people as possible. |
