Generate reports for a given date range

The Donation Reports section of Method:Donor's Donations App allows you to generate a report for all donations in a given date range. You can also create donor summary letters for individuals and for multiple donors. The following steps will show you how to complete these processes.

NOTE: Ensure popups are allowed on your browser for Method:Donor, or some of the following steps for printable reports may not work as intended.

Accessing Donation Reports

You can get to donation reports in two ways:

  • Click the vertical ellipsis [] on your Donations App and select Reports.

  • On the Donations List page, you will find Donation Reports & Letter underneath the grid.

You will be taken to the Donation Reports screen.

After you have selected a report and put in the proper parameters, press Generate Preview to see the report. 

Below is a description for each type of report. 


Donor Summary

The Donor Summary report will show the donations over a given time period for a single donor, or all donors.

Donors: 

  • For all donors - generate the summary for every donor.

  • For a specific donor - generate a summary for a donor selected in the dropdown.

Report Format:

  • PDF: A pdf document appears as a new browser window, where you can download or print it. Remember to allow pop-ups.

  • Excel: A spreadsheet file you can open in Excel will automatically be downloaded.

  • CSV: A text file of comma separated values will be automatically downloaded.

Date Range Filter:

  • From and To: the date range to filter which donations are included in the report.


Donor Summary by Amount

The Donor Summary by Amount report has a parameter to specify a minimum amount, and also how to calculate this amount. 

Report Format:

  • PDF: A pdf document appears as a new browser window, where you can download or print it. Remember to allow pop-ups.

  • Excel: A spreadsheet file you can open in Excel will automatically be downloaded.

  • CSV: A text file of comma separated values will be automatically downloaded.

Date Range Filter:

  • From and To: the date range to filter which donations are included in the report.

Contribution Type Filter:

  • Total for a Donor: report will show donors whose total donations (over the given time period) is greater than or equal to the given amount.

  • Individual Donation: report will show individual donations that are greater than or equal to the given amount.

  • Amount: the amount to filter the report with.


Donor Summary Letter

The Donor Summary Letter is a letter to be given to the donor which lists all the donations they have given over a period of time. It is recommended you set up your Summary Letter Preferences before continuing.

Donors

  • For all donors: generate a summary letter for every donor.

  • For a specific donor: generate a summary letter for a donor selected in the dropdown.

Date Range Filter:

  • From and To: the date range to filter which donations are included in the report.


LYBUNT

LYBUNT stands for Last Year But Unfortunately Not This Year. This report will give you donors who gave last year, but did not give this year.

Report Format:

  • PDF: A pdf document appears as a new browser window, where you can download or print it. Remember to allow pop-ups.

  • Excel: A spreadsheet file you can open in Excel will automatically be downloaded.

  • CSV: A text file of comma separated values will be automatically downloaded.


SYBUNT

SYBUNT stands for Some Year But Unfortunately Not This Year. This report will give you donors who gave in the past, but did not give this year.

Report Format:

  • PDF: A pdf document appears as a new browser window, where you can download or print it. Remember to allow pop-ups.

  • Excel: A spreadsheet file you can open in Excel will automatically be downloaded.

  • CSV: A text file of comma separated values will be automatically downloaded.
