Account Settings: Display

Admin users can change the display defaults for the platform.

Updated over a week ago

Admin permission is required to access the display settings.

As an administrator, you can set up display defaults in your Method account. Navigate via Account Settings Display.

The display preferences page is divided into four sub-sections.

Branding

This section allows you to upload a company logo, which will appear on reports and in portals. The logo can be no more than 400x60 pixels and should be 5MB or less. Method supports most graphic file formats (e.g .jpg, .png, svg).

For more information, please see our article Upload Your Company Logo.

Organization

  • Organization name - name that shows on printed reports, on the Portal Sign in page, in CompanyAccountName field, and anywhere where the customer can see their “account name”. It can be anything they want in any format they want. So Best 4 U instead of best4u.

  • URL - This will be the URL for your Method account and your portal. For example, if your URL is best4u:

    • best4u.method.me is the domain URL

    • methodportal.com/best4u is the portal URL

Clicking the pencil icon [✎] allows you to change the URL with the following screen:

If the URL already exists, you will be prompted to contact support to claim the URL.

NOTE: You can only change your URL once. If you need to change it again, you will need to contact support.

Date and time formats

This is where you can choose your preferred date and time formats. These presets will determine how dates and times appear throughout Method.

The Time Zone can be set on a company-wide basis, or on a personal basis. For more information on Time Zones, please see "How are Time Zones set in Method?"

Number Formats

Here, you can choose how negative values appear throughout Method:

  • with a minus symbol: -99.99

  • in parentheses: (99.99)

You can also choose whether or not to use a thousands separator (e.g. 1,000 vs. 1000).

Navigation

Go to screen actions default behavior

This refers to how a screen will open when a record is selected in the app ribbon panel. In the below image, we are looking at an associated activity for an opportunity.

When a user selects the activity on the right, there are two ways the activity screen can be viewed: within the panel itself or its own screen.

  • Open in Main Panel - With this selection, the selected associated record is brought up in its respective app, and the parent record will no longer be visible. In the below example, the activity is opened up in the Activities app.

  • Open in Current Panel - The associated record will appear within the panel, allowing the parent record to still be viewed on-screen. In the below example, notice how you can view an opportunity with an associated activity in the right panel. Note that any link selected in the panel will still show in the panel. Thus, if the David Henderson contact link is selected, it too will open in the right panel and the opportunity will still be visible.
