Connect Payment Gateways

How to connect gateways to receive payments in Method.

In Method, a payment gateway allows you to accept credit card payments directly within Method. Payments are facilitated by Shuttle, a global payments platform for software vendors and their merchants.

The Payments pop-up is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant, so you can securely:

Supported Gateways

The following payment providers are supported:

  1. BrainTree

  2. CardConnect

  3. GoCardless

  4. Moneris

  5. PayPal Commerce

  6. PayPal Payflow Pro

  7. Square

  8. Stripe

  9. QuickBooks Payments*

*ACH is supported only on Authorize.NET, QuickBooks Payments, and Stripe (USD only).

Note: Payments made through the portal are deposited to the Undeposited Funds account. Once the funds are actually deposited into a bank account, the Deposit To Account needs to manually be changed to the correct account.


Navigate to Payment Gateways Setup

  1. Click the Profile icon in the upper right corner. Select Integrations from the menu.

  2. On the Integrations page, click Payment Gateways.

  3. On the Payment Gateways screen, click the Create a payment gateway button.

  4. A pop-up to Configure payment gateways appears. Select your Country, and then click your payment gateway from the list.

  5. Depending on the gateway you selected, you will be asked to Connect to the gateway. Click the blue button to continue. In the below example, Authorize.Net was selected.

  6. A separate browser window will pop up and you will need to go through the authentication details for your payment gateway. This is different for each payment gateway.

  7. Once you allow permissions, the original browser window will update and you can futher configure your payment gateway. Each gateway will have their own options. In the below example, the payment gateway configured is Authorize.net. When satisfied, click the Done button.

  8. Your payment gateway has been added! If you wish to add another payment gateway, click the blue add link.

  9. Once your payment gateway(s) has been added, you will need to Customise the Checkout. The options shown are dependent on the payment gateway. This allows you to have different payment methods for different payment gateways. For example, you can have Authorize.Net for ACH, and Stripe for credit cards. Once configured, click the Save button.

  10. Your payment gateway set up is complete. To see what it may look like to your customers, click the preview checkout link. Otherwise, click the โœ• in the upper right corner to complete the configuration.
