What can I use for proof of trading?

If we need to make further checks to verify your business, we may ask you to send in proof of trading.

You can provide us with one of the following:

  • Evidence of membership from a regulatory body or a relevant professional / trade association. You can find out more information about this here

  • A utility bill in your trading name

  • A copy of your VAT registration

  • A copy of your latest accounts or tax return

  • A copy of an in date public liability or indemnity insurance policy

  • An invoice for work completed

  • An online presence such as a website or social media account

  • Bank Statement in your trading name, dated within the last 6 months

  • HMRC self-assessment tax return (most recent)

If you're unable to provide any of these at the moment, you can skip this part of the process but we'll need to see proof of trading within six months of your account being opened. If you don't provide this within six months we'll be in touch to discuss next steps.
