If we need to make further checks to verify your business, we may ask you to send in proof of trading.
You can provide us with one of the following:
Evidence of membership from a regulatory body or a relevant professional or trade association
A utility bill in the trading name (dated within 6 months)
A copy of VAT registration
A copy of the latest accounts or tax return
A copy of an in-date public liability or indemnity insurance policy
An invoice for work completed (dated within the last 6 months)
An online presence (website or social media account)
Bank statement (excluding Mettle) dated within the last 6 months
HMRC self-assessment tax return (most recent)
Self-assessment registration (including UTR)
Employment / Business Contract
If you're unable to provide any of these at the moment, you can skip this part of the process but we'll need to see proof of trading within six months of your account being opened. If you don't provide this within six months we'll be in touch to discuss next steps.
