How To Take A Screenshot

Need to provide a screenshot to our team for further review?

Screenshots are helpful to our team to help us identify exactly what the cause of an issue may be!

There are a few simple steps that you can take to take these screenshots, depending on your device.

🍎 iPhone & iPad

Newer model iOS devices:

  • Press and hold the power and volume buttons

On older iOS devices

  • Hold down the Power button. Quickly press your Home button while you have the Power button held down.

  • Screenshots taken this way will save automatically to your Photos application.

Most Android devices will allow you to take screenshots with the following steps:

  • Hold down the Power button.

  • Simultaneously press your Home button while you have the Power button held down.

or

  • Press the power button and volume down button simultaneously

  • Using Buttons:

Press and hold the Power button and the Volume Down button at the same time.

Hold for 1–2 seconds until the screen flashes.

  • Where to Find It:

Screenshots are saved in the Photos app under Screenshots, or in the Files > Pictures > Screenshots folder.

πŸͺŸ For Windows Users:

You have several built-in options:

  • Snipping Tool

Search for "Snipping Tool" in the Start Menu.

Choose the type of snip (free-form, rectangular, window, or full-screen).

Save or copy the screenshot.

  • Snip & Sketch / Snipping Tool (Windows 10/11)

Press Windows + Shift + S

Your screen will dim and let you select the area to capture.

The screenshot is copied to your clipboard; paste it into Paint, Word, or email.

  • Print Screen (PrtScn)

Press PrtScn to capture the entire screen (copied to clipboard).

Press Alt + PrtScn to capture the active window only.

  • Windows + PrtScn

Captures the whole screen and automatically saves it to the Pictures > Screenshots folder.

🍎 For Mac Users:

Mac also makes screenshots easy with these shortcuts:

  • Command + Shift + 3

Captures the entire screen and saves it to your desktop.

  • Command + Shift + 4

Turns your cursor into a crosshair to select a specific area.

Press Spacebar after selecting to capture a specific window.

  • Command + Shift + 5 (macOS Mojave and later)

Opens the screenshot toolbar for screen recording or customized screenshots.

  • Command + Shift + 6 (Touch Bar Macs only)

Captures the Touch Bar.

Screenshots are typically saved to your desktop by default, but you can change the destination via the toolbar settings.
