We're excited to announce a fresh new look for Pharmapod forms, designed to make your experience more intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly! You'll notice a significant change in how you complete and submit information, moving from long, scrolling pages to a more guided, stage-by-stage process.

Before: The Single-Page Approach

Previously, Pharmapod forms often presented all fields on a single, continuous page, requiring extensive scrolling. While some forms might have included multi-page navigation, the overall experience was less segmented.

After: Individual Sections with a Clear Progress Bar

The new UI transforms this experience by breaking down forms into smaller, more manageable sections. Each section is presented within its own "card" or step, guiding you through the submission process with a clear visual progress indicator at the top.

Here's what the new experience looks like:

You'll see a clear progression of stages such as: "Event Description," "Patient Details," "WHAT Happened," "Incident Details," "Risk and Harm Details," "Stages Involved," and "CQI Tools." You'll complete one section/card and then proceed to the next, typically using a "Next" button.

Key Characteristics of the New UI:

Segmented Input: Information is now collected in logical, bite-sized chunks, making the form feel less overwhelming.

Visual Progress Indicator: A clear display at the top shows your current stage, the total number of stages, and which stage you've completed (e.g., "It is colour coded circles and filled circles). This provides a constant sense of where you are in the process.

Focused Input: You'll only see the relevant fields for the current section, reducing visual clutter and helping you concentrate on the task at hand. The progress bar could be reduced or increased depending on the answers in the description area. Organizations can choose what is mandatory and what is optional in the CQI bubble.

Stage-by-Stage Navigation: Explicit navigation buttons like "Next" and "Back" are used to move smoothly between sections.Your entered information is automatically saved in a "draft" status once details are added, allowing you to progressively complete forms

Required Fields for Progression: To ensure all critical information is captured, navigating to the next step is contingent on filling in specific mandatory details within the current section (e.g., "Describe the facts of what happened").

Real-time Visual Validation for Mandatory Fields: The system provides immediate visual cues (e.g., highlighting in red) for any mandatory fields that are left empty or skipped within the current card/section. This helps you correct errors on the spot.

How This Improves Your Experience (UX Implications):

Reduced Cognitive Load: By breaking down the form into smaller steps, the process feels less daunting and more approachable.

Clear Sense of Progress: The visual progress indicator motivates you by clearly showing how far you've come and what's left to do.

Improved Data Accuracy: Focusing on one section at a time helps you enter more accurate and complete data. Mandatory fields ensure critical information is captured.

Better for Mobile Devices: Segmented forms are generally more mobile-friendly, requiring less scrolling and providing larger, more manageable input areas.

Immediate Feedback for Error Correction and Improved Accuracy: Real-time visual indications help you identify and correct missing information promptly within each step, enhancing data quality and efficiency. A red bubble in the progress bar offers an at-a-glance overview of incomplete sections, guiding you back to address them.

Potential for More Clicks: For very short forms, you might notice a few more clicks as you navigate between sections.

Enhanced Data Persistence: Automatic draft saving minimizes data loss and allows you to resume your work seamlessly.

Final Validation on Submission: Despite stage-by-stage validation, a final check for all mandatory fields is performed before the ultimate submission, ensuring completeness. Drafts should be completed and submitted within days. Events can be edited after submission. One has to avoid leaving events in Draft for more than 3-4 days!

When You'll See This New UI: Late July/Early August

This new UI is best suited for:

Complex forms with many fields that can be logically grouped into distinct categories (e.g., patient information, incident details, event description).

Applications where user engagement and completion rates are critical, especially for lengthy or sensitive data entry.

Forms intended for a wide audience, including those less familiar with digital interfaces.

Forms that may need to be completed over multiple sessions, necessitating robust "save as draft" and automatic draft saving functionality.

Mobile-first design strategies.

We believe these changes will significantly enhance your experience with Pharmapod forms, making them more intuitive, efficient, and user-friendly.
