How to Request a Carrier Sub-Appointment

How to request Sub-Appointments with the carriers on the Bold Penguin Terminal.

Your Carrier Appointments dashboard is where you activate your Direct Appointments and request Sub-Appointments with the carriers on the Bold Penguin Terminal.

Requesting and Activating Sub-Appointments:

You can request a sub-appointment with a carrier by toggling on the carrier and selecting Request through Bold Penguin. This will automatically send your request to Bold Penguin’s Customer Success team to work with the carrier on your behalf.

Note: Once you request a sub-appointment on the Carrier Appointment dashboard, the carrier card will show a "Pending" Status:

Once you submit your sub-appointment requests, look for emails directly from the carriers requested. Some require you to complete additional forms or need additional information. A Customer Success team member may also contact you directly to gather additional information based on carrier inquiries.

Once a sub-appointment activation is complete, you will receive a confirmation email confirming your activated sub-appointment and the carrier card toggle will be highlighted in purple.

Additional Sub-Appointment Notes

  • The first time you request a sub-appointment, you will be prompted to complete a Compliance Questionnaire form. You will only need to complete this form once; however, your sub-appointment requests will NOT be submitted and processed until this form is completed and approved.

  • As mentioned above, some carriers require additional vetting beyond the information you provide in the Compliance Questionnaire. In this instance, a Customer Success team member may contact you for a few additional pieces of information. Some carriers also use a third-party service provider to complete a background check, so keep an eye out for these requests.

Sub-Appointment Timeline

While some sub-appointments only take a few days to activate, others could take several weeks.

You can help reduce the time it takes to activate a sub-appointment by:

  • Providing detailed responses to the Compliance Questionnaire

  • Promptly providing additional information requested by the Bold Penguin Customer Success Team

  • Completing carrier or third-party-requested information as soon as it is received
