Before you can request a sub-appointment through the Bold Penguin Agent Terminal, you must complete our Compliance Questionnaire. This questionnaire will populate for completion during your Account Setup, or once you request your first sub-appointment.
Why is it Required?
This questionnaire gathers information required to process and approve sub-appointments. Since sub-appointed agencies will be binding business under Bold Penguin's master code with the Carrier, we require agents and their agencies to be in good standing.

If you have yet to request a sub-appointment, you will be asked to provide the following:
Current Carrier Appointments
Annual Small Business Premium
Lines of Business Your Currently Write (Commercial Lines)
Small Business Retention Percentage
Top 3 Commercial Carriers and Accompanying Loss Ratios for the Last 3 Years
Principal Agent NPN and States in which the Principal is Licensed to Write Business
Agency NPN and States in which the Agency is Licensed to Write Business
Copy of your Error & Omissions Dec Page or COI
ACH and W9 Information
Once you have completed and submitted the Compliance Questionnaire, you will be able to request sub-appointments by sliding the carrier toggle to the right. The status on the carrier card will change to pending, and the Client Success team will receive an alert for your sub-appointment request and quickly submit it for approval and activation.

Compliance Questionnaires are reviewed daily by Bold Penguin's Compliance team. Approval generally takes between 1 to 3 business days; however, this timeline increases if Compliance Information is missing.
Our Customer Support team will contact you directly (via support@boldpenguin.com) if additional compliance information is needed. Promptly providing the requested information will ensure a quicker Compliance review.
Please note that some sub-appointments only take a few days, while others could take several weeks, depending on the carrier. Once a sub-appointment is confirmed by the carrier and activated in your Terminal, you will receive a confirmation email from us.
