Sub-appointment information:

Sub-appointment timeline: average 3-4 weeks (true turnaround time is dependent upon agent responsiveness to DocuSign completion initiated by carrier).

*Sub-appointment processing does not begin until your Bold Penguin compliance review has been approved.

Appointing states: The agency must be physically domiciled in one of the following states to be considered for a sub appointment: AZ, CO, DE, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, MD, MI, NM, NC, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, WV, WI.

Additional considerations:

  • Must have a physical agency location.

  • Website review will be completed by the carrier to ensure the agency model is a good fit. Disqualifier examples:

    • Website not credible, unclaimed domain, no website.

    • Website heavy on financial planning with no mention of commercial insurance.

    • Agency specializing in an industry outside of the carrier’s appetite (e.g., trucking).

  • Agencies with less than one year of commercial insurance experience are not eligible for a Westfield sub-appointment.

  • Captive agencies are not eligible for a Westfield sub-appointment.

Please be advised that sub-appointment requirements are determined solely by the carrier and are subject to change without prior notice. Exceptions to these requirements will not be considered unless explicitly stated. Additionally, approval for sub-appointments is entirely at the discretion of the carrier.
