  • In Terminal - Can be quoted in the Bold Penguin Terminal

  • Off Platform - Can be quoted on the carrier's portal with a direct appointment or Bold Penguin market access appointment

  • Placement Desk - LOB is integrated on the Terminal; can be quoted using the Bold Penguin Placement Desk's "Request Placement" prompt in Terminal

  • Placement Desk - LOB is not integrated; can only be quoted using the Bold Penguin Placement Desk via email or phone call submission

Market access appointment information

  • Timeline: 3–4 weeks (may vary depending on agent responsiveness).

  • Processing:

    • Begins only after Bold Penguin compliance review is approved.

    • Utica First conducts a vetting call with each agency to review appetite and production requirements.

  • Appointing states: Agency must be domiciled in CT, FL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, OH, PA, or VA.

  • Eligibility: Captive agencies are not eligible for market access appointments.

Production expectations:

  • Minimum $25K in premium annually.

  • Market Access appointment requirements are determined solely by Utica First and are subject to change without prior notice. Approval is at the carrier’s discretion.

Utica First can be accessed through the Bold Penguin Placement Desk by completing an application in the Bold Penguin Terminal and Requesting Placement, or by contacting the Placement Desk directly.

Note: Placement Desk is available exclusively to customers with a full-access (paid) Terminal subscription.

Policyholder servicing information:

IMPORTANT: Utica First does not have an Agent Service Center. Agents who place policies through the Placement Desk cannot call Utica First directly for policy servicing or underwriting questions.

Policy servicing must be completed by the policyholder.

Any policy changes or policy cancellation requests must be completed through the Bold Penguin Placement Desk team at the contacts referenced above.

My Policy provides Utica First policyholders with access to information regarding their Utica First Insurance Policy. They must register their policy. The information includes, but is not limited to:

  • Policy documents

  • Online billing and payment information/changes

  • Claims information

  • Generating COIs (will only generate information currently on the policy; additional insureds and coverages must be submitted via cl@uticafirst.com)
