To send marketing messages to your clients, its important that you have their agreement. This can either be in writing (safest!) or verbally.
How can you change clients to OPT OUT of marketing messages?
If at any time a client advises you that they do not want to receive marketing messages from you, then its vital that you respect their wishes and do not send anything further to them that relates to promoting your business.
Option 1 for Pocket PA user to change clients OPT IN/OUT STATUS in client details area
You can manually change the clients Marketing status in Pocket PA under their Client details area in Edit mode
Switch the green Marketing Button to OFF (grey) and your client will not show in any future options or filter choices when sending marketing messages. Then remember to click Update top right to save these changes.
NOTE: To reverse this and opt clients back in, you simply go to Edit mode again in the clients detail area and switch it back ON and press Update.
Option 2 for Clients to change their own OPT IN/OUT STATUS from their marketing email
Clients can also directly OPT OUT of marketing messages themselves by using the link in the SMS and following the steps and sending a message to the OPTOUT number displayed (in SMS)
Or in the email message they can click on the UNSUBSCRIBE link.
Both these methods above will automatically update your clients preferences in their client detail area.
How to change your clients OPT OUT status back to OPT IN
Once a client has opted out of marketing messages, it will also show in the marketing area under the Opted out tab.
Option 1 for Pocket PA user to change clients OPT IN/OUT STATUS in the marketing area
You can Opt clients back in either using the method above in the Clients details area or below in the Marketing area.
If your client asks you to opt them back into marketing messages, you can switch them back IN to receive these marketing communications manually by turning the button OFF next to their name and they will then be removed from this OPT OUT list and get future messages.
NOTE: Only opt clients back in if they have expressly asked you to do this - as GDPR rules are very strict and big fines are given for businesses that do not respect clients wishes.
Option 2 for Clients to change their own OPT IN/OUT STATUS from their marketing email
Clients can also OPT IN themselves using the link they will receive in the email once they confirm they are opted out
Marketing promotional messages and Transactional messages
Opting out of marketing messages is not covered under the same rules as sending your clients transactional messages
Transactional messages include anything relating to the practical delivery of your service to the client
booking confirmations,
appointment reminder
thank you messaging.
To see your clients transactional opt in status - look in their client details area - these can also be switched ON/OFF in edit mode depending on your clients preferences.
Green means Client is OPTED IN
