Three structure functionality in the Order Line screen
Tree view solves one of the biggest challenges in production and order planning: complexity. When an order consists of many subassemblies, components, and subcomponents, tree view provides a logical and clear structure.
1. Full overview of structure and hierarchy
When the order lines are built as a tree, you can immediately see which parts belong to which assemblies.
Advantages:
Clear visual connection between main product, subassemblies and individual components
Reduced risk of errors in production and planning
Faster understanding of the product's structure
2. Easier handling of complex products
For products consisting of many levels, Tree is View crucial.
This gives the tree view:
The main line acts as the top level
Underlines can be folded in and out as needed
Better control over structured components
Less scrolling and better overview
3. Fast navigation and better user experience
The user can expand to the exact level they are working on, without losing the overview.
Advantages:
Reduced visual noise
Easier to focus on relevant parts
Faster navigation when editing
More professional and clear presentation
4. Better planning and progress control
When each part is displayed as a separate node in the tree, it becomes easier to see:
Start date and end date per component
Progress percentage for each level
How delays in one part affect the whole
This is especially useful for planning, progress tracking, and critical components.
5. Ideal for BOM (Bill of Materials) and assembly structures
Tree View represents product structures in a way that matches technical and production work processes.
Areas of use:
Product structure
Order setup
Purchasing based on subcomponents
Planning of subassemblies
Linking operations to the hierarchy
6. Better collaboration between departments
All departments get a common picture of how the order is structured:
Sales sees what the order contains
Planners get a structured overview
Production sees the order and dependencies
This reduces misunderstandings and increases efficiency.
7. Higher data quality and fewer registration errors
With a clear structure , there is less likelihood of errors, such as:
Incorrect placement of components
Incorrect linking of operations
Incorrect registration of materials
Incorrect progress recording
Summary
Tree View in order lines provides:
Better overview
Clear structure
Easier navigation
More efficient planning
Reduced misregistration
A more professional and user-friendly presentation
Tree View is therefore a key function when ProdSys is to handle complex production orders in an efficient and intuitive way.

Weight info at order line level
ProdSys now automatically displays unit weight and total weight on each order line, based on all included items. This provides a quick and accurate weight overview without manual calculations. The feature improves shipping planning, logistics and packing by allowing users to easily see how heavy products and sub-assemblies are. Documents such as order confirmations and delivery notes also receive more accurate data. Overall, this results in better control, fewer errors and a more efficient workflow.
Weight info can be added to Order reports
Calculation of packaging units on order line
Automatic calculation of the number of packaging units at the order line level. This is controlled by the settings on the items or product.
This provides faster and more accurate order processing, as users do not have to do manual calculations. The system ensures that the correct number of cartons, boxes or pallets is calculated regardless of the quantity ordered.
Automatic calculation results in more accurate picking lists and improved flow in logistics and packing. Warehouse personnel receive clear information on how to handle the goods, which reduces errors and saves time. It also results in better inventory management because both pieces and packaging units are correctly recorded in the warehouse movements.
Packing units can be displayed on order and delivery documents, increasing clarity for both customers and carriers. In addition, this feature makes the system easier to use: new employees do not need to learn the rules of packing calculation, as ProdSys handles this automatically.
The result is higher quality, fewer errors, better documentation and a more efficient workflow.
