Reset article location on order lines and order articles

How to reset the location on multiple order lines to the article's default location.

Introduction

On an order, the location may vary from line to line – either because it has been changed manually, or because the article's default location has changed since the order was created. With Reset article location you can set the location back to the one defined as default on the article, for the lines you select.

The feature is available on both Order lines and Order articles, and works in the same way in both views.

Prerequisites

  • You must have access to the order view and permission to edit order lines

  • The articles must have a defined default location on the article record for the function to have a value to fall back to

How to do it

  1. Open an order and go to Order lines

  2. Tick the lines you want to reset (checkbox on the far left)

  3. Click the three dots in the top right of the grid

  4. Choose Update β†’ Reset article location

  5. Confirm the action in the dialog that appears

Tips and best practices

  • Use the feature when you have changed the default locations on articles and want to update open orders

  • Only select the lines that actually need to be reset – mass-resetting the whole order may overwrite deliberate manual changes

  • Make sure the article has a default location before running the function

  • The feature does not change the article itself, only the location value on the order line

Limitations

  • Lines without a checkbox tick are not changed

  • Articles without a defined default location are not affected
