ProdSys can transfer the customs information needed for Norwegian goods in transit (NVIT) directly from your order lines to your freight provider. When the Add NVITs to Freight function is enabled, ProdSys builds the required per-item data for each shipment and sends it to the freight API (Cargonizer).
What is NVIT?
Norwegian goods in transit (NVIT) is when goods are shipped from one location in Norway to another via Sweden or Finland. Because the goods are temporarily outside Norway during transport, they must go through a transit procedure, and customs authorities need information about the contents. New EU requirements mean more detailed information must be provided per item. NVIT data is entered per shipment (consignment), where one shipment can contain several NVIT lines – one per item.
Prerequisites
The Cargonizer freight integration is set up for your company.
You have access to Settings → Extensions.
Your order lines and articles contain the data NVIT needs (HS number, weight, country of origin – see the field reference below).
Step-by-step: Enable Add NVITs to Freight
Open Settings → Extensions. 👉 Open Extensions in ProdSys
In the list of integrations, select Cargonizer freight system.
In the Funksjon (Function) list at the bottom, find Add NVITs to Freight.
Tick the Aktiv (Active) checkbox to enable it.
Once enabled, ProdSys automatically includes the NVIT data with each relevant freight shipment.
How the data is transferred
The NVIT information is a separate dataset in the freight API and is not linked to the freight (shipment) lines. ProdSys reads the relevant values from your order lines and sends one NVIT line per item in the consignment.

Tips and best practices
Fill in the required fields on your articles – HS number, gross weight, and description – so the NVIT data is complete.
Use correct HS numbers. Customs expect the goods to be classified well enough to identify what is being shipped; a generic or missing number is of little value.
Add country of origin and value where possible, even though they are optional, for more complete transit information.
