How to Set Up Time Rules for Time Registration Fields (Order, Order Lines, Notes etc)

Updated over 3 months ago

Setting up detailed time rules in your ERP system ensures that employees provide all the necessary information when logging their time, such as linking time entries to specific orders, order lines, and notes. This improves tracking and accountability for both time spent and work completed. Follow these steps to set up time rules that ensure accurate time registration:

1. Access the Time Rules Module

2. Define Mandatory Fields for Time Registration

  • Configure which fields must be completed for every time entry. These fields might include:

    • Work Schedule: The work schedule used on this timetype

    • Order Number: Require employees to link time entries to specific orders they are working on.

    • Order Lines: Require connection to order line

    • Station: Require Workstation used on the time registration

    • Task: Require Task on the workstation

    • Note: Require a note for employees to provide descriptions or additional details about the work performed.

    • Time type : Require Work time type "Salary code" this should always be selected

    • Article: Require Article from the work order

    • Project: Require Overall project

    • Time type : Default Time type

    • Station: Default Workstation

3. Link Time Rules to employee

By setting up detailed time rules that require the association of time with orders, order lines, and notes, you can ensure accurate tracking, improve accountability, and gain clearer insights into where time is being spent across projects and orders.
