Step-by-Step Guide to Setting Up a Warehouse in ProdSys

In ProdSys, a Warehouse is a physical or virtual location where your company's inventory is stored, managed, and tracked. The warehouse serves as a central hub for managing goods, including raw materials, work-in-progress items, and finished products. ProdSys allows businesses to create and manage multiple warehouses, each with its own set of locations, storage levels, and rules for handling stock movements

Setting up a warehouse in ProdSys involves creating and managing warehouses and their respective locations. This guide will walk you through the process step-by-step, helping you set up your company's warehouse structure efficiently.

Step 1: Log in to ProdSys

  1. Log in to ProdSys with your credentials.

  2. Navigate to the "System / Setting " section from the main menu to access the warehouse setup page.

  3. Go to Logistic and open Warehouse

Step 2: Create a New Warehouse

  1. In the Top Section of the screen, you will see a list of all the existing warehouses for your company.

  2. To add a new warehouse, click the + New button at the top of the section.

  3. Enter the warehouse name, description, and any other required information.

  4. If this is the primary warehouse, mark it as the standard warehouse by checking the Standard box.

Step 3: Manage Warehouse Status

  1. If a warehouse is no longer in use, you can set it to passive.

    • Select the warehouse from the list in the Top Section.

    • Click on the Action Menu (three dots), and choose Set to Passive. This will deactivate the warehouse without deleting it.

Step 4: Add and Manage Locations within a Warehouse

  1. Select a warehouse from the Top Section to display its locations in the Bottom Left Section.

  2. To add a new location, click the + New button in the Bottom Left Section.

  3. Enter a location code, name, and any other necessary information.

  4. If this is the default location for the warehouse, mark it as the standard location.

Managing Locations:

  1. Set a Location to Passive: If a location is no longer used, select the location and click Set to Passive from the Action Menu.

  2. Move a Location: To move a location to another warehouse:

    • Select the location and click Move in the Action Menu.

    • Choose the new warehouse and click Confirm.

  3. View Location Details: You can see the Location Code and the number of articles stored in each location from the Bottom Left Section.

Step 5: Manage Articles in a Location

  1. Assigning default location to all Article for this Warehouse Go to Action menu on Warehouse line and select Add default Locations

  2. Bottom Right Section will display all the articles stored in that location.

  3. Change default Location for Article on Warehouse:
    Click on Article in the List located on the right side
    Article opens Select Logistic
    Change Location for this warehouse

Step 6: Finalize and Review Setup

  1. After setting up your warehouses and locations, review your configuration to ensure all warehouses and locations are accurately set up.

  2. You can always return to this section to add new locations, move existing ones, or update statuses as your warehouse operations evolve.
