Step-by-Step Guide: Editing Warehouse Functions for an Article in ProdSys

In ProdSys, managing the logistics of your articles is a crucial part of maintaining inventory accuracy and ensuring that your stock is handled correctly. This guide will take you through the process of editing the logistics settings for an article, including setting warehouse locations, minimum stock levels, and other relevant details.


Step 1: Open the Article in ProdSys

  1. Log in to ProdSys using your credentials.

  2. Navigate to the Articles section by selecting Articles from the side menu.

  3. In the Articles list, locate the article you want to edit. You can use the search bar or filters to find the article quickly.

  4. Once you’ve found the article, click on the Article no to open the article's details.


Step 2: Navigate to the Logistics Tab

  1. After opening the article, you will see various tabs on the left-hand side of the article’s details page.

  2. Select the "Logistic" tab to access all logistics-related information for the article.


Step 3: Edit the Logistic Details

Once you are in the Logistic tab, you can edit various fields related to the article’s warehouse functions:

  1. Quantity Formula:

    • Choose the correct formula for how the quantity is calculated, e.g., "m: Quantity x Length".

  2. Unit Measure Qty:

    • Define the unit of measure for this article, such as meters (m), kilograms (kg), or pieces (stk).

  3. Unit Stocktake:

    • Specify the unit for stocktaking purposes (such as length, volume, or weight).

  4. Minimum Restock Qty:

    • Set the minimum quantity that triggers a reorder when stock levels fall below this threshold.

  5. Lead Time Days:

    • Specify the number of days required to restock the item after an order is placed.

  6. Transport Index(TI):

    • Enter a transport index (optional) is used to indicate the level of hazard associated with radioactive materials or other dangerous goods during transportation. It plays a critical role in ensuring safety and compliance with international regulations governing the transport of hazardous materials.

  7. Quantity in Package:

    • Enter how many units of the article come in a single package.


Step 4: Edit Warehouse Locations

  1. On the right-hand side, you will see a Locations table that shows the warehouses and their respective locations where this article is stored.

  2. For each warehouse, you can manage:

    • Warehouse: The warehouse where the article is stored.

    • Location: The specific location within the warehouse (e.g., a specific shelf or section).

    • Min. Stock Level: The minimum stock level for this location.

    • Max. Stock Level: The maximum stock level for this location.

  3. To make changes:

    • If you need to add or change the warehouse location, click the location field and select the appropriate warehouse or location from the dropdown list.

    • Enter the Min. Stock Level and Max. Stock Level for each location to ensure proper stock control.
