Step-by-Step Guide for Using the "Inventory by Location" Screen in ProdSys

"Inventory by Location," gives users a detailed view of the stock available at each warehouse and its respective locations. It helps in monitoring stock levels and movements at specific locations, making inventory management more efficient.

Step 1: Log in to ProdSys Log in to your ProdSys account with your username and password.
Navigate to Logistics and select Inventory by location to open this screen.

Step 2: Understanding the Top Section – Inventory by Location In the top section, you can view all articles and their storage locations. The following fields are displayed:

  • Location: Indicates the storage location of the article within the selected warehouse.

  • Article Number: The unique identifier for the article.

  • Warehouse: Shows which warehouse the article is stored in.

  • Group: The article's group or category, such as Rør (Pipe), Material, etc.

  • Description: A brief description of the article (e.g., size, material type).

  • Article Type: Specifies if the item is a product or another type of item.

  • Qty in Stock: Displays the current quantity of the article available at that location. A red number indicates negative stock (shortage).

You can filter and sort by any of these columns to find specific articles or manage certain groups of stock.

Step 3: Reviewing Stock Movements (Bottom Section)
The bottom section provides detailed stock movement information for the selected article and location, helping to track past and ongoing transactions. The fields in this section include:

  • Order Number: The number of the order associated with the movement.

  • Category Number: The category or group linked to the order.

  • Order Category: Specifies the type of order (e.g., order, receipt, closed).

  • Location: Indicates where the movement occurred.

  • Qty: Displays the total quantity of the movement.

  • Movement Qty: Shows the specific quantity moved for this transaction (positive or negative).

  • Order Date: The date the order was placed or processed.

  • Order Production: The date associated with production for the order, if applicable.

  • Order Delivery Date: The expected or actual delivery date for the order.

Step 4: Filtering and Grouping the Data To efficiently manage your stock, you can group and filter data in both sections:

  • Use the filter option in each column header to search for specific articles, warehouses, or order types.

  • You can drag a column header to the top to group the data by that column, such as grouping by Warehouse, Location, or Group.

Step 5: Monitoring and Managing Inventory By using this screen, you can easily track and monitor stock levels and movements at various locations.
You can identify shortages or overstocks by analyzing the Qty in Stock and Movement Qty fields and then take appropriate actions.
