Step-by-Step Guide to Using the Station Progress Screen in ProdSys

Updated over 2 months ago

The Station Progress screen in ProdSys is used to report progress, register time, and manage documents on both line and workstation level. Here, you can see all production orders, relevant documents like drawings and other production-related data, and update progress directly on the workstation.

Step 1: Log in to ProdSys

Log in to your ProdSys account with your username and password.

Go to the Station Progress screen by navigating to "Progress / Station Progress" from the main menu or directly via URL.

Step 2: Understand the Station Progress Overview

In the upper section of the screen, you’ll see a table with several columns giving a detailed overview of ongoing production orders at the station. Important columns include:

  • Order: Shows the unique number for each order in progress.

  • Line: Each production order can contain multiple lines with individual tasks.

  • Order Status: Indicates whether the order is created, in progress, or completed.

  • Station Name: Displays the name of the workstation handling the order.

  • Location: Shows where in the production area the order is being processed.

  • Customer Reference: Provides a reference to the customer for the order.

  • Time: Shows the amount of time allocated for the task at the station.

  • Article: Describes the product or component being worked on.

  • Station Start/Finish: Displays the start and finish dates for the task.

  • Employee: Shows which employee is responsible for the task.

  • Delivery Date: Indicates when the order is expected to be delivered.

Step 3: Filter and Find Orders

At the top of the screen, you can use filters to narrow down the display to specific workstations, employees, or orders.

Use the filters to focus on a particular station, employee, or order. You can also use the search function to find specific orders based on customer reference or article description.

Step 4: View and Update Progress

The Station Start column shows when the task is scheduled to begin, and Station Finish shows when the task is expected or has been completed.

  • A green status indicator means the task is completed.

  • A red status indicator means the task is delayed.

  • A blue status indicator means the task is scheduled in the future and not complete.

Step 5: Report Progress

When a task is completed or progress needs to be updated, you can click on Station Start to report 100% or 0% progress, or choose the Action Menu (three dots) next to the task to perform specific actions such as:

  • Reports

    • Details: Shows details of the selected order line.

    • Order Details: Provides an overview of the entire order and its related details.

    • Line Label: Allows you to print a label for the specific order line, useful for labeling products or materials at the station.

  • Not Complete 0%: Resets the task progress to 0%.

  • Restart Progress: This function allows you to restart progress on a specific task or order line. This can be necessary if a previous progress update was incorrect or if a task needs to be redone.

  • Start Time Registration: Select this option to start time tracking on a specific task or production order. If you are registered on another task it will close this.

  • Stop Work : Select this option when the days end.

  • Register Progress: Used to manually register progress for the selected task. Here, you can update information like time spent, completion, or report any issues encountered.

  • Documents: Opens the documents related to the specific order or create a new.

  • Picklist: Opens the picklist that shows the items to be picked for this specific order.

  • Maps: Displays the location or work area for the task on a map. This is especially useful for fieldwork or location-based tasks.

  • New Activity: Creates a new activity related to this order or task. This is useful for scheduling additional tasks or following up on detailed progress.

This action menu gives you a flexible and efficient way to manage production orders, allowing you to monitor and adjust progress directly from the workstation.

Step 6: Complete Progress Reporting

Once you have updated the status for all relevant tasks, the system will automatically record the progress and update delivery and production data. This provides a clear overview of production efficiency and any bottlenecks.

Step 7: Action Menu on Lines in Station Progress

The Action Menu in the "Station Progress" interface of ProdSys ERP offers a set of key functions to help users manage and track the progress of individual orders. This guide will explain each option available within this menu, which can be accessed by selecting a specific line representing an order.

Accessing the Action Menu

The Action Menu can be accessed by clicking the ellipsis icon (…) next to any order line within the Station Progress screen. This reveals a dropdown containing all the aforementioned options.

Reports

This option allows users to generate detailed reports related to the selected order. Users can access information such as order details, employee assignments, and task completion status.

Complete

Mark the selected task as completed. This updates the task status and can trigger subsequent workflow steps or alert relevant stakeholders about the completion.

Not Complete

If the task needs further work or corrections, this option is used to mark it as incomplete. This status update helps supervisors know that further action is required.

Restart Progress

In case of revisions or restarts of a task, selecting this option allows users to reset the progress for the selected order. The progress tracking restarts, ensuring all steps are followed accurately.

Start Work

The Start Work starts time registration or switches tasks. It automatically stops time on the previous task and starts tracking the new one, ensuring accurate time logs for each task, crucial for productivity tracking and project management.

End Day

The End Day option is used when a user finishes work for the day. By selecting this option, the user closes the latest active time registration, capturing the total work hours for the day on that specific task or order.

Register Progress

Users can log specific progress on the selected order by entering relevant details or updates. This ensures real-time documentation of ongoing work and resource consumption.

Documents

This section provides access to all the related documents associated with the selected task. Users can view, upload, or edit documents tied to the order, ensuring comprehensive documentation.

Order Pick List

Displays the pick list associated with the selected order. This list contains items or materials needed for the task, helping employees prepare and verify necessary resources.

Maps

Opens a location-based view to help users locate relevant assets or resources related to the selected order. This is useful for logistics and managing geographically dispersed assets.

New Activity

This option allows users to create and schedule a new activity associated with the selected task or order. This could include additional checks, inspections, or related sub-tasks.

Conclusion

The Station Progress screen in ProdSys gives you a detailed view of production orders at the workstation level and allows you to easily update progress. This ensures that production runs efficiently, and any delays or issues can be quickly identified and addressed to keep production on track.
